Is India all about political journalism?

Have you ever imagined why a sarpanch doing excellent work in a remote village doesnt qualifies to be a primetime story on national media? Why case of an illitrate girl of a village being sexually abused like Nirbhaya is not discussed on primetime debates? Why exploitation of farmers is only a news big enough to run on ticker on the bottom of the television screen? Why martyrdom of a  soldier doesnt attracts a serious debate like it does when some Baba makes a stupid statement? I think media is reduced to be a machinary best exploited by politicians to have their say.
False rhetorics to hate speeches, communalism to secularism, corrupts to criminals and so on are the daily topics being discussed by the eloquent, well read spokespersons of the political parties who are always willing to give most bizarre logics & explanations to defend their masters in a hope that they will convince the television viewer.
I think that with every passing day media is becoming lethargic and confined to their offices to do all the reporting. I rarely see any journalist doing an investigative ground report on other social issues other than politics like education, health, farmers, children etc. because it becomes harder to do such stories due to locations and they dont get a scripted platform like they get in political press conferrences and meetings. Perhaps it may not attract many TRPs but is media reporting 24*7 in anticipation of TRPs only?
Many times media just picks up a controversial statement or some crazy act of a politicians and plays or reports it whole day till it is not concluded by some editor in chief of that channel on a prime time debate. While media has done fantastic job by exposing some huge political scams but it has failed to report effectively the failures of exsisting system in some key areas like health, education, upliftment of poors and farmers, environment, transportation, women security etc.
Stepping out of the studios just before elections and talking to some random people by going to some popular stops of a city is not the kind of journalism we are looking at.
This election season I found some journalists saying on television very proudly that they are reporting from ground which itself speaks volumes about the relevance of ground reporting and investigative journalism. As a common citizen I expect journalists to not waste all journalism on a single topic called hardcore politics of blames, hates, rhetorics, lies and arrogance.
